In Topic: A little bit about you...

Hi ya'll,
My name is Cally and I'm actually new to the site. And new to being a Lab owner, well actually a dog owner in the first place. :D
I'm a youngin' I'm only 20 (21 in march) I live with my boyfriend Hank(27) and our 4 cats [Storm(14), Romeo(12), Gut(7), and Corona(3) and our recently new puppy Athena, who is 6 weeks old in Arundel, Maine.
We adopted her 7-7-10 from an owner in New Hampshire, we drove down and picked her up at 11:30pm, not getting home til 2:30am :o She lost her mother when she was 2 weeks old, and the breeders had to bottle feed her and her siblings. Athena started to think the cat was her mom. Out of a liter of 5 one passed, and Athena (was Lucky Lady) was the last to go. Coming a a wonderful lovely family with a 3 arce open yard. Athena fell right to sleep in my arms and slept in the back seat with me, while Hank drove home. Since this is her second full day at our house. We are still letting her sleep in the bed with us. But In a couple of hours, we are going to go get her a doggy cage for when we are not home. And a safe place for her to go when she is feeling like she needs her space.
Right now she couldn't get enough attention, and poor Storm (the 14 year old cat [also a grumpy old man]) can't get rid of her. Athena keeps licking and nipping at him. If anyone can help me with trying to figure out how to stop her. That would be great! (Especially since Storm cant jump on the couch or anything to get away from Athena.) Also she has a thing for feet. She keeps nipping at people's feet, and biting.
If your wondering about her name, we couldn't figure one out until yesterday, which she LOVES to play tug of war. Especially by grabbing your pants or shirt and trying to pull you. (Hopefully this cute cute cute scene stops soon) So the Goddess of War sounded like a great name. And it was the first one we agreed upon. She has already started chewing on shoes, so the closet door has to be remained shut all the time. (I love how she doesn't chew on her carrot or her rope, or her sock but everything else.) But she is a cutie.
I'm very happy we chose her for out dog together. I haven't had a dog since I was about 6 and my boyfriend hasn't had one since he was about the same age. Always cat people, but always love the dogs.
I would appreciate any helpful hints towards puppy and lab raising, (especially training, potty training and the teeth stage) That would be great. thanks. I have been reading a lot on her, but just ordered a bunch of books off amazon.
P.s She has the Bolo mark on her paws too... Such a cutie.

Thanks a bunch,
Cally, Hank, Athena, Storm, Romeo, Gut, and Corona.
