Hey Labtastic,

I know of one company, NaturVet, that sells products specifically for this.
The link should take you to the page with the edible biscuits and the lawn patch items.

Hope this helps :)

@Labtastic - That's good, i'm hoping it's just a phase that'll pass. You can tell right when she's about to do it, her tail-wagging gets so enthusiastic that it swings her butt side to side several inches hahahaha, a second or two after you notice that, her hind end drops a bit and she springs a tiny leak lol.

@jules - I praise like crazy when we can make it outside with no accidents, and even if there is, i ignore it at the time and continue taking her out give the cue and treat+praise when she goes in her area. Guests/friends that come over are indeed allowed to treat her, excitement without accidents is always rewarded :)

edited to add: I did check the protein level of her food (based on the guaranteed analysis %s, not sure of how else to do so lol) and there was a different 'flavor' of the same brand/product line that had a little less protein so I bought some of that just last night and will be monitoring her for improvement. I'll also be doing some other digging to find out the protein content of other good foods in case I need to scale back a bit farther.

I currently feed her Authority puppy food, so i'll look for another brand that has a bit less protein in it. We were just at the vet a few days ago for boosters, and she advised that it wasn't a UTI, but that because she's only about 4 months, it seems to be a control issue.

I'd also like to add that it does seem like the actual amount that "escapes" is becoming less over time, so maybe it's already improving, and i'm just more impatient than i thought hahaha.

thanks for the input D & M :)

*sigh*

I wish spammers would at least try to make their posts fit in.
Seems counter-productive to post these in places least likely to pique interest.
I mean, W.O.W. power leveling...in a labrador forum. Simply stunning marketing prowess.

Hello everyone!

My name is Ben. I'm 27, originally from the west suburbs of Chicago, but now living in Rockford.

Until recently, I was a cat person, but my wife moved out in Feb, and took my cat with her.
I was at the shelter a few weeks ago to visit with the furries, and decided to visit the dog section before I left.
After wandering about for a bit, I found her :) shy, quiet, and black as night...except for a white "T" on her chest a a bit of white on each webbed foot. I'm not known for being a softie, and she about made me melt.
My roommate was with me, and we took her into the visitiation room for a while (they don't allow dogs under 3mo. to use the outside rec area for visits) and we were locked. We couldn't -not- take her home :)

We got the ok from our landlord, submitted the adoption paperwork, and saturday of that week we welcomed her home. I love her to pieces, and am now officially a dog person...or...at least a lab person ;)

The only bad part so far, and in NO way her fault, was when I was playing with her a couple days later, and raised my hand to catch a ball the roomie threw to me to use for play with her. I raised my hand, open and palm out, to catch the ball, and as soon as my hand was up...she cowered on the floor and closed her eyes. Broke my effin heart. In my experience with animals, they don't do that unless they had a history of abuse. Then the ball hit me, and she looked slightly amused haha. I've made it a part of her training now to get her used to seeing my hand (both with signals and otherwise) closer and closer to shoulder height, in the hopes that she'll forget about her past and learn that she'll never have to cower around me.

I look forward to participating in the forums, and eventually posting some pictures of my little girl :)
Cheers,
~b
