I give my LuLu the Triple Strength Joint Max chewy tabs. I get it from EntirelyPets.com. She gets one in AM and one in PM. I also gave it to my last dog, Perry. Both reacted great to having this added to their diets and they like the taste. Best of luck with Harley.

In Topic: Danno is itchy

Poor miserable guy. Sounds like Danno has food allergies. Iams? Really? Lots of people on this site are not too fond of that brand. Poor nutrition and lots of grains. Stay away from any food that has corn or wheat in it. Labbys are suseptible to grain allergies. I would try slowly changing his food to a better, grain free brand.

A Betadine wash will help on hot spots, too.

In Topic: Major Dog Food Recall! Evo, Innova, California Natural

22 March 2013 - 02:32 PM

Thanks Larry. I feed the Innova Adult Large Bite to LuLu and ran to check the manufacturing numbers. Fortunately the bag she is eating from now was made before this recall was put in place.

I was a raw feeder with Perry. I may have to rethink about returning to that routine. It is definately a better way to feed but it takes a bit of work and planning to do it right. Also, with Perry had to ween him off raw as he aged. I was worried about all the bones and older canine teeth but he thrived while he was a "Barf" dog - bones and raw foods.

Thanks again.

I think Bella looks like a Boxer/Labby. Such a sweet face...

Louis sounds like a young lab. The replies you've received are totally correct. He needs more exercise and it sounds like you should be working more on his training. A dog that only sometimes listens to you is not fully trained. Part of his outdoor time could be long leash training time. Just hang in there, work on exercise and training and you'll have a lovely pet. Best of luck with Louis.
