My parents recently adopted a mixed black lab and were concerened that while he sleeps he twitches a lot. I told them that dogs are just like humans and they dream, so he might be maybe, running or playing in his sleep and his body is reacting to the dream. Please tell me that i'm right or that its not that serious. Thanx!!!!

You are exactly right! Dogs do dream. I have seen them:

Run in their sleep
Bark in their sleep
Show their teeth in their sleep (Very rare)
Growl in their sleep
Wag their tail in their sleep
Wimper when they are probably having a nightmare. When this happens I just call their name to wake them up and then let them go back to sleep again.

Based on my observations, dogs are most likely to do this when that have had a day full of play. If we go to the park and play ball and frisbee for about an hour that night I will see them moving their legs like they are running or their tail will start wagging.

This is completely normal and no cause for alarm.

Ev wimpers & makes this grumble bark noise. It's hilarious to hear! She also runs & wags her tail while sleeping.
Would love to see what she is dreaming about!
