HI,

i was outside a last week with Charlie, getting him some exercise before I went to work. It was the first day it got really cold so the back yard was frozen over. When i threw his ball he slipped while starting to run. didn't think anything of it because he ran around just like normal for a few minutes, then he limped back into the house. When i came home for lunch he was still limping. He lets me check the leg without any whimpering or yelping. I can put pressure on his shoulder, elbow, ankle, entire leg actually. When i get to his paw he doesn't wince, but pulls it back a little at first. I can grab it and put pressure on it, squeeze it, no response.

I want to say it's a toe nail problem, but he got those clipped two days after this happened, he's still limping.

The difficult thing to understand is when i get home and we go outside for him to do his business, he picks up his balls and runs around the back yard just like normal, maybe a little slower. Then limps back inside, no yelping, no whimpering, just limping.

I have waited a week to see if it has improved, looks like he's limping even more.

Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

If this has been going on for a week, I'd let your vet examine your dog's leg. It could be a torn muscle or something like that. In the meantime I wouldn't let him run around, I'd keep him quiet for the time being.
