Hi all, hope you dont mind me butting in. :) Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Teresa, and we are on our third lab. Previously we had two females, Beauty and Lisa. Beauty was a field dog, weighed in at 98lbs of pure muscle at her peak. A super intelligent, loving back yard bred girl. Lisa was a conformation dog, as sweet as she was beautiful. She was my heartdog, and now, 7 years later, I still miss her. Now we have Blackjack, or first male. He's a handsome dude, and just celebrated his 11th birthday. He's peppered with age, but that's okay. He looks quite distinguished. He isn't much of a retriever, and is basically a couch potato, but loves to dance. Yes, he's a musical freestyle dog. He's not the best at it, but he might be the happiest dog out there performing. :D We don't do much anymore due to his age, but every now and then we do quick demonstrations and he's always thrilled to perform. he also has a special gift. He can make anyone smile. I don't care how bad their day is, or how much they hate "labs", he can still make them smile. He has that special ability to beam at just the right instant, to stare them down with pure love and joy at being alive. I've watched the toughest competition obedience people melt when looking at him. Despite his age, he still hasn't lost that talent. When he beams, everyone smiles.

We also have a mixed breed. When we picked him out at the shelter, we were told he was a lab/chowmix. Not even close. He's maybe chow, siberian and belgian sheepdog. They said lab because he is black, and one of his brothers was blonde. Later, that brother turned almost white. He has another brother who looks just like a chow. Ace has chow like features in the bone structure of his face, but luckily got the sweet disposition of the sibe/belgian. :D Now if his mane would finish it's summer coat blow, I'd be happy. :D

The two dog are best friends. Blackjack no longer gets ear infections, because his "little brother" (who is taller than him, but weighs about 10 lbs less) holds him down and cleans his ears. :D

So since I replied to an earlier post, though I should at least introduce myself. :)

Hello Teresa, Blackjack and Ace- Very pleased you joined us on BL.com. There is a thread in Dog Park called "A little bit about yourself". You may want to put your introduction up there, too.

I would love to see a video of Blackjack as he is freestyle dancing. My Perry is turned 11 yrs old this past June. He's gray in the muzzle but still a puppy at heart.

Welcome aboard
