Hi, My family is desperately looking for a new addition. We are looking preferably for an adult male black lab, preferably aged 1-4 years old. Must be good with kids, dogs and cats. We have been looking for awhile now and everyone we come across that is closer to Indian River, Michigan has already been adopted. We are looking for a free lab or adoption. We own a home, have two children ages 6 and 8, have 2 cats and a pug. If you have that special guy that we are looking for, please contact us asap. smile.gif Thank you!

We have many black and yellow labs and lab mixes available at animals shelters in Texas. Right now we have 7 in our shelter north of Houston... all black but one! You can see a picture on PetHarbor.com; ID #s : A095954, A095445, A0954008, A095514, A095621, A095620,A095493. Please help us place some of these dogs. We work with lab rescues and a local non-profit even gets some transported to Penns. We would appreciate any help you could offer. This is a kill shelter. mad.gif

I don't know how far you want to go, but in Indiana, I can recommend several places. 1st is Indianapolis Humane Society (www.indyhumane.org). We adopted a black lab mix there and the only signs of a mix I can see is that she'll probably only top out at 55 pounds. She's only about 10 months old, but they have several adult dogs in need of homes, as well. Also, Indianapolis Animal Care and Control (www.PetHarbor.com) is, I believe a kill shelter. Our Dolly was initially there before being sent to the Humane Society. We visited their facility and they had many, many lab mixes (looked like full lab, but likely not). 3rd is Happy Labs in Columbus, Indiana. They are a lab rescue whom house a group of some of the best behaved labs and lab mixes I have ever seen. http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/happylabs.html. Also, North of Indianapolis is the Hamilton County Humane Society (www.HamiltonHumane.com). There are a ton of labs and mixes in Indiana needing a home. One more is L'il Bit of Heaven Animal Rescue in Martinsville. They were severely affected by the floods down here and are desperately needing to place their dogs (http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/IN327.html). Check out Santos on their listings. What a beauty! Sorry to overwhelm you with all of this, but there are just so many labs in this area! Adoption fees for these places range from $60 to $200. Just be prepared to have to treat a little kennel cough from Animal Control and the Humane Societies. Dolly had it and got right over it within a week or two.

I have a black lab who will be 3yrs old in October. He is great with my son who is 9 and he gets along with all animals. I really hate to give him away but we have to keep him in a kennel all day while we are at work and he is just too big for our house. He really is a great dog and I would love for him to go to a loving family that has a yard he can stay in and that would love and play with him. I am in Tennessee so if you are interested, please let me know.

Thank You!

Dear Family, Are you absolutely set on a male? I have the sweetest 5 yr. old black female that I regretfully have to give up due to my declining health. I will wait for reply before I tell you all the great details about her.Email me .I live not too far away in Cadillac MI. and if you are interested, my phone # is 231-394-0711 I would even come up to Indian River to help her transition into your family. Call or e-mail and let me know. Sincerely, Dennis Johnson
