Smokey and I have fallen into a nice morning walking routine and it is good for us both.

Hunting season is upon us here and while we do walk on the road, we live in a very rural area.

I want to buy him an orange vest, but, am afraid it will not be well tolerated and he will chew it.

Do your dress your lab?

I hate to miss out on our outings because I am not sure who is in the woods!

That's a very good idea. A woods full of hunters with "deer fever" will almost shoot at anything that moves.

I would get your dog an orange vest. You can introduce it to him slowly. Put it on him around the house for 10 minutes and ignore him when he is wearing it, but treat him normally. Then next day put it on him for 12 minutes. Each day increase the time he is wearing it.

You may want to play a game of ball or frisbee when he is wearing it, it'll take him mind off of it. If you put it on right before playtime he'll associate it with good things rather than bad.
