Hi Everyone
I am Shelly and I live in Louisville Kentucky. My family and I have adopted a 16 week old puppy named Abby from animal control. So of course we are not sure of her true bloodlines but our vet seems to think she is a full lab. Several clues are that she had a full chocolate sister with her, webbed feet, the lab "stop: on her head, lab face, and she actually has a Bolo mark on the back of one of her paws. Also she is so unbelievably smart and great with our 3 & 5 year old boys -- getting her was one of the best things we have ever done. Our vet told us that it is not uncommon for people out in the country around here to breed some labs and dump the remaining puppies at the shelter after a certain point so that they do not have to spend any more money on shots or meds for them. Totally pathetic.
Anyway unlike Daly I cannot sing but I like to try when I am in the shower tongue.gif I have two boys 3 & 5 who are way way crazier than any puppy I have ever seen! I love going to the ocean and great lakes and we cannot wait to take Abby with us.
Have a great weekend

I know we've done this before but hey... new layout, so here goes!

I'm Carolyne (username gave me away huh?!) and I live in a small village in the beautiful county of Lincolnshire in the UK.
I'm 25 & I live with my Fiance Matt and our gorgeous 10 yr old Lab Tessa.
I am a complete plane freak (military jets) which is something people do not expect when they meet me!!
I love reading Bill Bryson and Tom Clancy and I make a mean Pumpkin Pie wink.gif

Hope everyone is settling into the new site.. I've noticed more of you are logging on and posting. Not everyone likes change but it's refreshing and it will work 100 times better in the long run!

I know it is weird -- I did not know either until the vet pointed it out to me. It is a white patch right behind the big pad on her front left paw. It is pretty small I never really even noticed it but he said it is some trait that some labs carry genetically. He sold me on it (not like I would give this dog up if I thought she was not a lab or anything else) blink.gif

That is very very interesting. Sasha has that on the back of both her front paws. It used to be bigger when she was little but is much smaller now. Very Interesting, I wonder where her tail comes from? Like I said she is 100% Lab except for her tail. biggrin.gif

Well seeing how this is a string about ourselves I better post something although most of you know everything already.

My name is Karen and my Husbands name is Hami (pronounced like Tommy but with an H) we have been married for 5 years. We have no human children. rolleyes.gif
Just our animal babies. Sasha a 11 1/2 month old Lab mix and a 5 month old (as of today) Registered Lab Toby. Kattie is our little main coon kitty, she is 9 years old. When we got married I had four cats, one dog and a white parakeet. Since last June three of my cats, my parakeet and dog have all passed away. It has been a really ruff year. Makes me wonder if I should have gotten Sasha and Toby so close to age. They all passed away from age and natural causes but it all happened to close together. My life will never be the same.

We did not have any children, we tried but I had two miscarriages and decided not to try again. As for my age I am old enough to be Jeremy's mother, I will leave it at that. wink.gif

We live in Kalamazoo Michigan. I am originally from PA and have lived all over the states. I am in retail sales management, currently unemployed but hope to have a job soon. I have spent the summer working at a home business and the websites. http://twoblacklabs.com and http://gigadoo.com. I hope to be selling more on ebay soon. I will be selling Premier Dog supplies. Like the gentle leader.

I love computers (as you can tell) I have a minor in computers but that was back when Jeremy was in dypers.....Ok now its time to pick on you.... tongue.gif
I have a BA in Humanities which was in Music and Drama. I play the piano, guitar, percussion, and a few others but its been awhile. I started as a voice major. I say consider myself well rounded. Mind as well as body...... rolleyes.gif

My hobbies (besides computers and anything electronic) music, movies (sci fi), golf, archery, and my furry babies.

Now did I forget anything? I think that is close to my life story.

I am sorry to hear of the losses of your babies. What a shock to have lost them all so close together. I hope your next year gets easier and better. I have been to Kalamazoo one time -- we were spending a day there and then went up to Holland Mi -- it was a few years ago but I remember it was nice.
I was looking at your other sites and the pics of sasha -- why do you think her tail is not lab-like? (I am new to this forum so I have not seen very many pics of her) She looks so beautiful and most of all happy!

[font=Tahoma] Hey guys. I am Carey and my husband is Jusitn. We have 4 children - 9yr girl, 6yr boy, 5yr girl, 1yr girl and One coming in July! We live in Morgan, Minnesota. We haev two labs Benson was our first and he is 2yrs and just yesterday we rescued a 1yr old lab named Sundance. They are trying to figure each other out with the running around snififng each other till no end! They are doing good though, besides sundance having food aggression towards Benson when he tries to eat his food. Awe well gotta be some trouble or can't say you worked for it right? Well this summer we had some biting ttouble with our Benson. Almost put him down but thanks to this website and the ppl on here mainly we decided to keep and retrain him, and i must say he has done very well, the pastor came into the yard and Benson let him pet him without growling! My husband is co owner in the family construction buisness and I am a photographer out of my home. Works out pretty nice. My husband and I met in EMT classes. He is a firefighter also and we both have our EMT license. I am 24 will be 25(ouch) on Nov.17th and Justin just turned 26 on Nov. 7th. Yea, we are young, which is great in order to keep up with 5 kids and 2 labs! Well i think that is it. Don't know what else to tell ya. I am greatly thankful for all of you guys on this website. I really don't know what I'd do without you all.......it's like another family who feels the same about animals as do I, and it's great. Thank you- From Carey, Benson & now ofcourse Sundance. We love you all!!

Hello, some of you know me, some of you may not ... my name is Pam. We live in Saskatchewan, Canada. I'm a single mom of two *wonderful* boys and I got my first black lab this summer --- he's a little over 4 months at this point.

I am a nursing student with a couple of years left to go, but I am counting down the months, let me tell you!

This is a wonderful site, with many friendly open-minded people with at least one thing in common: a love of dogs, especially labs. It isn't a snotty site where you have to have a purebred or a showdog. I've made some good friends here, from all over the world and hopefully we'll see as many new faces as old ones as everyone makes the adjustment to the new format!

Hello and greetings to everyone. I'm Michael /25 and I live in Honduras C.A. I have 5 canines, 3 Rottweilers, 1 English Bulldog and my newest friend a Black Lab. I came across the site by a common google search and here I am. It is so interesting to get to know the different breeds of dogs and their distinctive "personalities". Up to a year and half ago my dad and I used to be Rottweiler freaks. Then I decided I wanted a E. Bulldog which is like my daughter her name is Fiona. One day We got to the office and the guys at work had a black lab. Nobody wanted it, so being the dog lovers we are, we decided to keep him with the knowledge that someone might ask for him. And let me tell you, its been the most interesting days of getting to know this breed! All of you might already know this but allow me to brag about how nice this guy is. Like love at first sight from the moment i gave him some water and fed he started following me and jumping up at my chest demanding attention. I took him to the vet, they gave him a nice bath and when they returned him to me they had put a purple bandana around his neck which he approved wearing from the beginning. I took him home and I have a pool... So you might already know what I will say next. The guy jumped three times in the pool. Swam came out, and jumped in again like a champ. The vet said he was from 10 months to a year old so he is still a pup. Although a ilttle underfed I'll try and post a pic of him and then when I have him in top shape. I dont want to give him a name yet because I'm still giving him a trial period, giving his owners a chance to ask for him. If not, They best just give thanks he came to a family that will spoil him. Thanks for your time reading my long introduction. And I'll welcome any tips or name suggestions!

Hi! I'm Linda. My husband Tom and I have been married for 27 years (where does the time go). We have one daughter Jennifer Age 21 who has just recently moved back home from Florida. I have worked for the local police department for 29 years and my husband has been a heavy equipment operator for the last 35 years. Four years ago the three of us went to pick out a black lab pup from a great breeder. That was one of the best days of our lives, when Abbey came into it. It's hard being away at work all day and we started thinking it was probably lonely for Abbey too, so along comes Maggie. Maggie and Abbey have the same fathers but different mothers and they couldn't be more different, personality wise. Abbey is reserved and proper and Maggie is, and probably always be, a puppy even though she is now two. Just getting use to this new site and at first I thought it was too confusing, but like anything, you learn to deal. It has been great getting to know everyone and I feel as if I have made some great friends.

Ok so I guess it's my turn. My name is Misty and my husband is Tate (TJ) we have a papered lab named Broque who will be 2 on November 23rd, happy turkey day!!! He sired his first litter and we got our choice of which lovable lab we wanted to bring home. We picked him out, actually he picked TJ, just the other night and he will be ready to come home in just a couple weeks!!! YAY!! We will be naming him Tribal. We live in Post Falls Idaho (god help me) and are fairly young at the ripe age of 25, LOL!!! We have no children (except the labs) yet but we are trying for it.
I promise that when I figure out my whole computer issue I will be posting some new pictures of Broque and his son Tribal as soon as I can. You guys are all great and I'm sure if our boys got to meet any of you they'd lick you to death!! wink.gif
Perfect I am not, nor will I ever be.

Ian here.

I'm from Northumberland in England and my dog is called Phoebe (you can see many, MANY pics of Phoebe in my gallery. I'll weed some of them out after they've been on a week or so, and replace them with new ones. Lots of them were from the previous site.)

I've shared my life with dogs since before the Beatles split, and have had black labradors since 1990!

I've been married now for 25 years to Sylvia and have two grown up children - Ian (jnr) who's 24, and Lynn who's 21. Ian is currently single and Lynn lives with her permanent partner John. Lynn and John have TWO black labs; Ronnie and Reggie - (those of you who know anything of London East End underworld will make the connection - Krays-ie.) Lynn and John have been members but have not re-registered yet.

I'm 50 years old and therefore am very wise, but also creak and groan when I bend to fasten my shoelaces!

I'm a Station Officer in the local Fire and Rescue Service, in charge of 40 fine and dedicated firefighters. I've been in the Fire Service for 25 years now and will retire in 5 years time, to make a fortune writing books and making pictures - hee hee!

I like to do lots of things:
*Walking and enjoying coast and countryside
*Travelling, especially to the Greek Islands
*Cooking
*Red wine, good beer and the odd drop of the water of life
*Music of all sorts, including diverse stuff (for England) like bluegrass and Cajun (do you do any Cajun Jeremy?) - most types of folk music, including the McGarrigles and Rankin Family, and older stuff like Donovan, Steeleye Span and Fairport Convention....not much I don't like really, I go through phases

...and being a bit of an eccentric; ufology and life after death (I had an NDE once)
...and of course I love to spend as much time with Phoebe as possible out of the house in all weathers (walking just wouldn't be the same without her!)

(Insert flashy sparkly signature here!)

My husband's name is Scott and we have been married for over 20 years and have two teenage girls (god help us!) My husband has recently retired from the Air Force and I have decided to go back to school for nursing.
The way we found our handsome boy was we stopped at the the shelter one day and fell head over heels in love with him, how someone could have put him up for adoption I have no idea. But I am very thankful they did because his all ours. We have never owned a lab before but after being on this site I think that I am getting MLS. I am very thankful I found the site I have learned so much from each and everyone of you.

Thanks bunches!
