I'm new to this site, and like many of you I'm sure very happy to have found it.
I took my 4 yr. old BL Harley to have his hips/back legs x-rayed. Well they said he has 50% hip dysplasia and the beginning of arthtitis. He is absolutely insane about chasing a ball and never has a problem running, but I noticed about 6 mos. ago he was having trouble getting up.
Unfourtanetly, we lost our house to Sandy and have moved in with my sis family which is more than an hour from the ocean BTW, he loves to swim as much as chase a ball. It's going to be tough getting him to the beach every nite like we used to...well except on the weekends.
We set up an appt. with a specialist in 2 weeks but wanted to know if anyone had any advice? He's my wife & mine baby so we will do whatever needs to keep him healthy....even if that means surgery. We would appreciate any advise on that also.
